Just as we thought: The brilliance behind Pope Benedict’s abdication of the Chair of Peter

” ‘On Thursday, July 4 (1415), a happy and famous day indeed, the Council (of Constance) held a session, the King (Emperor Sigismund) being present in his imperial insignia, as before, that is, in a crimson dalmatic with a crimson cape over it, without cope, and with the imperial crown, scepter and orb. At that session Charles Malatesta abdicated with great solemnity from the papacy on behalf of Angelo Corrario, called Gregory XII… First was read a Bull of the said Gregory conferring on his delegates power to sanction the Council.’
The action by Pope Gregory XII thus described…saved the Church, the papacy, and Christendom…it is reasonable to assume that the idea came from Gregory XII himself, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit Whom the Council of Pisa had presumed to command. The strategy seemed too spectacularly brilliant…to have come from him alone.” (Warren Carroll, The Glory of Christendom, p.479)

The abdication of the Chair of Peter by Pope Benedict XVI might go down in history as a strategy of similar brilliance to that of Gregory XII. By resigning the papacy in 1415, Gregory threw an impossibly obtuse and irreconcilable council of Cardinals into a dilemma that practically forced his enemies inside the Church to accept, in the interim of selecting a new Pope, his own papal authority. The Council may or may not have been fully aware of the nuanced monkey-wrench tossed into their machinations by Gregory. Certain factions wanted Gregory out and refused, during this time of the Great Western Schism, to recognize his authority as the true Pope. Still, they were not willing to lose the supposed benefit of his resignation by not respecting the terms he put forth, and which were enforced by the Holy Roman Emperor.

However, by accepting the terms of Gregory’s resignation, they also had to accept his authority in order for the Council to be recognized in the first place; otherwise, the Emperor (who had received authority over the council by Gregory in a second Bull) would refuse to carry out the abdication! Thus, in their lust for power, the factions that opposed the authenticity of Gregory’s papacy were nevertheless forced to accept his authenticity in order to be rid of him. This necessarily conferred papal authority on the Council (since Gregory was the true Pope) and thus paved the way for the legitimate selection of the next successor to the Apostle Peter! The unbroken chain of apostolic succession to the Chair of Peter was secured through the Pope’s resignation and clever caveats. Is Christ Jesus amazing in His governance of the Church or what?

Though outwardly the circumstances of Pope Benedict’s resignation are different from that of Gregory’s, one is struck by a brilliance in the latter’s decision that, Benedict’s powerful intellectual acumen notwithstanding, could only come from the guidance of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. The recent deluge of shocking news regarding the almost surreal and unbelievable power of the gay lobby inside the very heart of the Church, at some of the highest levels, as being the root cause of the abdication is news that would have likely stayed underground if Benedict had stayed on the Chair to his death. The secretive nature of the Revolutionary, diabolical, and hellish gay factions inside the Church, who are bent only on the destruction of the Church and not on a supposed “reform,” has been at work in the Body of Christ like a hidden cancer in a human body for decades. Many of us in the Church have cried out and warned that the revolutionary traitors are in the house. Being secretive, the Revolutionaries dismissed our cries as over-reaction, over-zealousness, and even absurdity. Yet, in the end, our fears have been born out and the gay lobby’s satanic ruse has been brought to light.

It would take a move so radical as to shake the Church to her very core in order to tear down the walls of secrecy and to allow the sunlight of the Holy Spirit to shine and reveal in broad daylight the heresy and blasphemy at work in the Church and which is carried out in the name of the Revolution against all that is of God.

As counter-revolutionaries seeking to defend the true faith of Jesus Christ, the fullness of which can only be found in the Holy Roman Catholic Church, and without which there is no salvation for mankind, we now can take great heart and rejoice with enormous courage. For, through the most heroic act of a brilliant Pope, reigning in a time that is as dangerous for the Church as any since the Great Western Schism of Gregory XII’s pontificate, the enemies of the Church are brought out into the daylight. The battle lines are now clear. There will be no more sweet, condescending talk from those hiding in the shadows of the Church who try to convince us that everything is fine, that if there is a problem, it is only from a very small faction. The light is now shining, and we can see the magnitude of the situation and the filth in which the enemies of the Church stand.

Whether or not Pope Benedict knew that it would take a papal resignation to save the Church from the enemies within is a fact we will likely not know this side of eternity. However, we can be sure that our King Jesus Christ is leading His Church to yet another spiritual victory over the forces of darkness. This victory may be played as so many do, that is, through His Passion which would mean suffering, pain, and even martyrdom for the faithful. Yet, is that not the glory we seek? To live, suffer, and die in the footsteps of our King?

For the counter-revolutionary, the sun is now shining as the result of a brilliant move by a brilliant pontiff. The enemy has been revealed. We see his face; we know his name. This time he hides behind the homosexual movement. He had been hiding behind the pagan, New Age “spiritual but not religious” moral and religious relativism movement since the 60′s revolution. In the French Revolution, he hid behind “the goddess of reason”; in the early Church, he hid behind the pagan gods to whom the Christians were to sacrifice or lose their lives.

Christ and His Mother made us ready for the spiritual war that is now upon us. In every age from the time of the pagan Roman emperors through the atheistic French Revolution and to our own neo-pagan times of apostasy, the Church and her faithful are led to the lion’s den or to the guillotine for refusing to worship false gods. The modern militant gay movement is today’s false god and is that before which we are to bow or lose our jobs, our freedoms, or in the near future perhaps, even our lives. We will not worship this false god. For, we are the Church founded by Jesus Christ Himself. We love homosexuals as does Jesus Christ; at the same time, we declare with the certainty based on the authority of the Church guided by Jesus Christ that homosexuality itself is a grave disorder. To engage in it is a mortal sin separating one from God. To be actively gay and unrepentant in doing so is to risk losing one’s soul. We love homosexuals by trying to keep them from losing their souls. However, we will not lose our own souls by joining them and accepting the evil dogmas of the militant gay movement.

Let the battle now begin in broad daylight. Thank you Pope Benedict XVI.
